　エジプト生まれでパリで教育を受けたサミール・アミンは、新マルクス派理論家としては開発理論の面と、文化相対主義的な社会科学批判の両方でそこそこ知られている。発展途上国の意識的な自立を、特にアラブ世界について推奨。
